Events: Nuclear Africa 2014 Conference - Review
The Nuclear Africa 2014 Conference has been hailed as a great success.
The conference itself contained a set of dynamic speakers each with an appropriate message for the occasion.
The social functions were also full of life and lively debate. Many new contacts were made and older ones consolidated, which was the intention.
The Minister of Energy, The Hon Ben Martins was Keynote Speaker and he projected a positive image of the future of nuclear power in South Africa. The Minister's speech is here and a news item here.
Mr Phumzile Tshelane, CEO of Necsa projected a positive image for firm and rapid nuclear progress to be encouraged across the board. A news comment concerning this is here.
A late inclusion in the conference was a visit by the United States Deputy Secretary for Energy, Mr Daniel Poneman. He was give a short courtesy slot for a presentation which is reported here.

The number of exhibitors in the exhibition hall was double the figure for 2013 projecting the range of operations involved in the construction of nuclear power.
